Prof. Anubhav Mittal

BHB, MBChB, PhD, FRACS — robotic and laparoscopic surgeon specialising in gallbladder, hernia, liver and pancreatic surgery.

Prof. Mittal is one of the founding members of the Australian Pancreatic Centre based at Royal North Shore Hospital, dedicated to the care of pancreatic cancer patients. He previously served as Surgical Lead for the quality-improvement NSQIP program at Royal North Shore Hospital, a role focused on reducing surgical complications.

He was Head of the General Surgery Department at the Mater Hospital in Sydney until 2025, and is Head of Discipline of Surgery at the Mater Clinical School for the University of Notre Dame. He is accredited to practise at Royal North Shore Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Mater Hospital, Ryde Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital (the SAN).

Prof. Mittal is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at Notre Dame University and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, and has previously served as Director of Surgical Skills Training at the University of Sydney.

Since 1984, Dr Tameev's training and clinical work have continuously developed to accommodate patients of all needs. Applying his well-rounded experience to complex surgeries (cardiovascular, Whipple's procedures, neuroendocrine tumours and more) and medical problems in anaesthesia, he has established a reliable and high-quality practice.

Fellowships: Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospitals (Sydney), and Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney). His research (equivalent to three years of PhD study) examined the conditions of the microcirculation in patients operated on in a hyperbaric oxygenation environment, with 17 published papers.

Dr Reddy is a specialist anaesthetist with public hospital appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney Children's Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Ryde Hospital, and private affiliations at the Mater Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital.

Trained through the Canberra region anaesthetic training program, he nurtured a special interest in paediatric anaesthesia with a fellowship at Westmead Children's Hospital, and has completed the Perioperative Medicine Course at Monash University. His other interests include anaesthesia for upper gastrointestinal (oncology surgery of the oesophagus, stomach, liver and pancreas, and bariatric surgery), regional anaesthesia, and anaesthesia for spine and neurosurgical procedures.
